Rules of Perceptual Organization: Part 4-- Proximity
The next Rule of Perceptual Organization is Proximity! Proximity is the idea that objects that are close together will be perceived as a single group. In this case, the picture seems to have two "groups" of windows, the left group and the right group. Although there are multiple windows in each group, the fact that some of the windows are close together while some are further creates the sense that they are each their own groups. This demonstrates the Rule of Perceptual Organization, Proximity! Our last installment of the Rules of Perceptual Organization is Figure-Ground Perception. You won't want to miss it!
